Hedge Fund Research Analyst vs. Asset Management Research Analyst?

Hi,

I am trying to get a better understanding of what I would like to pursue as I am graduating college. I recently completed an Equity Research internship, and have a strong passion for research. I am looking at becoming a research analyst but am not sure as to what the full differences would be if I am a Research Analyst at an AM vs. HF. I understand that the strategies are different, but what about the overall day-to-day.

Also, if I am going to be creating stock pitches as a recruiting tool - can I send them to both AM and HF's or are they looking for different things?
