Hedge Fund to BB
I'm a year out of B-school (top 25) and have been gainfully employed since but not in the industry of my choice (Biz Dev instead of Finance). I've been trying to weasel my way onto Wall St. but since I don't have a hardcore (on-paper) Finance background it's been tough. An opportunity has been presented to me to work for a Hedge Fund in Texas. Does anyone know if this will position me well for a move to a BB on Wall St. If so, what might that strategy be, i.e. which role should I position myself for at the HF? I would be most interested in ending up on the typical IB route analyzing and pitching deals, but I could also see myself on the sell-side as well. Be gentle, I'm still learning here.
