Hello all! I am another JD coinsidering a move into finance and seeking advice.
I came across this site a while ago and as someone in the legal/RE business field who is seriously considering moving completely into finance, this site looked like a great place to get some advice, first hands accounts, etc.
My undergrad is in Business Management and I went to a top 5 law school but I never worked at a firm, I went in-house to a small RE company doing a mix of legal and business work. I have always been drawn to economics and finance and I am just trying to learn more about potential routes I could take and where I'd fit in best.
Are JDs without finance experience general welcome in PE & HF? Would my skill set fit in better on the buy side?
I appreciate any and all advice and input. Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Cheers!
Interesting background. What do you not like about what you're doing now? Also, curious to know why you chose not to work at a firm after law school considering you went to a top 5?
