HELP(!!!!!) an ignorant newbie

Hi, I am currently in my penultimate year of university and I understand that now is the time to apply for an internship during the summer with IBs.

Thing is, Im doing Engineering in school and have no idea what IB is all about. Ive actually done industrial attachments with engineering firms and all Ive learnt is that I DONT WANNA BE AN ENGINEER!

Ive checked out some of the programmes offered by IBs in my locality and all the different divisions and finance terms are confusing me.

Obviously, Ive been trying to do some research on the web and thats how i chanced upon this forum.

So, what do IBankers do exactly? What are the different divisions under IBanking and what do they do?

Ive scrolled and read through these forums abit but Im still not too clear.

Id really appreciate any help offered or if you could point me in the right directions.

Thanks!

They typically don't want seniors for their internships.
penultimate year is the junior year

erm, im not too sure about the american education system but im in my 2nd last year of studies in university. most of the programmes ask for applicants to be in their 'penultimate year of studies'. right?
