Help choosing offer between PE and RIA

Hi everyone,

As the title suggests, I have 2 offers pending. One is with an RIA as a Senior Analyst and the other is a Fund Accountant with a MM Private Equity firm. I am trying to get some advice on which role which role will be better in the long run.

Right now, I am an analyst at a PWM associated with a large financial institution, where I am responsible for approximately 40-50 clients and all operations that are associated with these clients and their accounts. The firm is in some turmoil at the moment and it seems to be a good time to get out the door.

The RIA is offering a role similar to what I do now, but are promising a lot more growth opportunities than I would have in my current firm. They promote a good work life balance and seem to have a good culture (however you can never really tell until you get there).

The second offer is as a fund accountant at a Private Equity firm. I do understand this is a back office role, however if I pursue the CFA or CAIA would if be possible to transition into a front office position? I do know the general consensus on moving from back office to front office is a difficult task, however I do believe this is certainly achievable with the right work ethic, certifications, and networking.

Basically at the end of the day, is it better to transition into a similar job as I have right now and with room to grow, or to take my chances with the fund accountant role and try to leverage that into a front office position down the road?

Thanks for all the help,
ryantherower
