Help on Networking Outside of My Group

Hey guys, any advice or guidance you have here would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently a senior in college and will be starting at a BB this July. I am really excited about the group that I am starting in, but am hoping to eventually move into Investment Banking (after 1 or 2 years). How do I go about navigating networking and continuing to build my network (in hopes of moving to IB) without sending out bad signals to my group?

On top of this, I am currently interning at a LMM PE firm near school and my boss offered to introduce me to a handful of bankers that he knows. How should I approach these interactions to show my interest in IB, but being careful not to step on the toes of my MD/cowers at the BB because I know it can be a small world? Should I wait for my current boss at the PE firm to make introductions until I am at the BB and ready to make the jump to IB or have him introduce me now to build relationships?

Thanks in advance for any advice you have to offer!
