Help! UVA vs. OSU

Hi. I want a job in finance, but I am not sure what specific job. I was admitted to UVA and Ohio State and I was wondering which one to choose. I would be able to attend Ohio State for free, but I would be 71k in debt if I went to UVA. Where should I go? Thanks.

I think the best thing to do is to look at the employment report from each school. Where do people actually get jobs, and what types of jobs would you like when you graduate? A student loan of 71K means an interest payment of upwards of $1000 per month (just an estimate, a lot of variables there). So would a job from UVA pay you $1000 a more than one from OSU? I don't know but each school's employment report would be able to tell you, in terms of average salary.

In reference to the above comment, depends if these are federal loans or private loans. And if you go into IB you should have these paid off within a year (live extremely frugal) or two years.

Having gone to a non-target, I can tell you it is hard to break into a top IB or MBB, and my non-target has a very strong network in IB, maybe comparable to some semi-targets. If that is your targeted career path go to UVA. Another thing to factor in is that your summer internships in IB or Consulting are extremely well paid. After living you should be able to net 10k or more and then maybe some more because of tax refunds that you can use to pay off some of those loans.
