Agree with this. At the analyst level, compensation at JLL is low and your bonus is not particularly transparent. At HFF, the compensation is higher and more transparent (i.e. you'll know roughly what % of a deal will be coming your way if it closes).

Prestige and exit ops depend on the team your are on, but in aggregate, I would go with HFF if the prestige thing motivates you.

If you have the offers don't you already know what the compensation is?

Prestige will vary wth market and product type, but generally HFF seems to have a slightly more prestigious reputation if only due to their smaller size and narrower scope. I would expect comp to be slightly higher at the analyst level at HFF.

As for career growth, both carry heavyweight name recognition, impossible to put one over the other in terms of "resume strength" without knowing market and product. As for mobility within the company, JLL has far more groups/offices/products and will offer more mobility within the company.

What is HFF base pay for an analyst like? I'm sure it varies by location, but can anyone give a range?
