HH Discretion

What's protocol for a headhunter's discretion around your application if they work with your current employer? Currently an Associate at a MM PE that uses one headhunter which I worked with closely through my hiring process. That same HH is managing a process for a VC that I'm interested in (looking to exit to VC/Growth Equity). I dropped a resume directly to the fund but now I suspect that that HH will be handling initial screens. Will this get back to my employer? I've avoided anything posted by them in the past but am afraid I may be stumbling into a situation where my re-recruiting is discovered

It is general best practice to avoid working with the same head hunter that your existing employer utilizes. While it is beneficial for them to maintain discretion, think about how your employer would react if they found out the head hunter they pay helped you get a new job.
