Hey there Mike.

Not trying to give you a bad impression of the site or the community, but you will find that people don't take very kindly to posts that offer no value or at least don't ask anything concrete that isn't easily found in Google. E.g: This kind of post isn't looked ver fondly upon because it neither shares or asks anything, which is why someone "Monkey Shitted" you, that is WSO's version of disliking a post.

Use the site to search for old posts before you post anything, to see if it has already been asked before.

People aren't all A-holes, but don't expect everyone to be overly nice or to have any true sense of community. Sorry for bursting your bubble or perhaps giving you a negative outlook on the site. The truth is that most people are OK and will help whenever they can. I just want you to have realistic expectations, since it seemed like you came very enthuiastically.

I would also recommend not putting your real name in your username (You can change it in your account settings). That's internet forum 101.
