Hi there
Hello everyone,
I'm Bart and am currently a first year studying International Business Administration at the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University.
My grades are currently average but I am really hoping to get them on a higher level next year. Also doing a minor in M&A next year out of interest.
Furthermore I am hoping to eventually get a career in the financial sector even though I know that I'm not getting there the "easy" way as I'm not in a top-tier school, don't have top-tier grades and don't have top-tier extra curriculars.
Anyone got tips though?
Welcome Bart...I'd change whatever is in your control to improve your chances...starting with the GPA.
Try to maintain some anonymity on this forum; don't post your name (change your username) and use generalities to describe where you go to school (i.e. I go to a top-tier school in Europe, etc).
Welcome to the forum Bart! As mentioned, start by trying to maximize your GPA. However, keep in mind that your grades are important but they are not the sole factor for a successful application. Join your university's finance club and collect experience from extra-curricular activities pertaining to finance. Your school (RSM) is definitely nothing to apologize for; I would even say that it's the most appropiate university to go to in the Netherlands if you wanna do banking.
P.s. Concerning your name I would advise you to at least change your nickname. You never know what you feel like writing after a few Grolsch...
