High Student Loan Interest

Does anybody know of any place that would refinance student loans for internationals without a cosigner?

I graduated last year and work at a HF now.. unfortunately I had to take out loans for all 4 years of school and have ~8-9% interest rate. I end up spending ~3.5k/mo on my loans and as a result have very little savings from my pay

I can't be dependent on my bonus to pay off the loan quickly.. since I'm an international, unless I get an H1B my option is to go to bschool. Even after I end up paying off a good chunk post bonus, I still need to save up for bschool just in case as a last resort (for which I'll probably need another loan anyways...)

Most of the lenders need a US cosigner to get a loan but am wondering if there's a workaround or if anybody knows of any lender that doesn't require a cosigner. 8-9% is too high and would love to save some money every month. for what it's worth I have different loan accounts, just one of them with a high principal amount with the 8-9% rate.. rest of them are ~5-6%

OK I am kind of in a similar case to yours but the magnitude of the loans are way less. Sharing this so that probably it could help you out. Background: come from South Asia and did masters in Europe at a top B school.

  1. Took a loan from Prodigy Finance, which didn't require a co-signer. I think they don't require co-signer for top US bschools either. However the interest rates are at 8-9%, which is way higher than what it is in Europe but 2-3% lower than in my home country.
  1. Once I got a full time job, I refinanced the loan through local banks in the country I live in at 2.5% p.a.

So you could try doing that. However as said earlier my loan was of 40k and my monthly payements were less than a thousand bucks a month. Hope this helps.
