credit shop nearly blew itself up in the recession and saw lots of turnover. heard morale was low and not a fun place to work. know a few ppl who left last year so it doesn't seem to have stabilized yet.

Hello,

I AM looking for information on Highland Capital in regards to culture, compensation, and their typical candidate. I would greatly appreciate any information. ExGSBanker, I would like to message since you seem to have worked there, but I do not have enough points to message you.

Thanks!

Also, check Factiva or Lexis: "Aggressive approach Dallas firm is intense - whether it's hiring, investing or litigating" (2006):

"At Highland, Mr. Dondero has fostered a culture that treasures hard work. Employment contracts mandate the extra-long workweeks. Caterers bring in meals so employees don't have to leave their desks. And everybody must log into a software program that tracks work hours."

Haven't worked with them, but rumor has it that the founder is a nightmare to work with and that working there can be a black mark on the resume. Supposedly they make you clock all your hours and watch you pretty closely. I can't verify if that's actually the case, but some of the stories seem kinda similar to what you may hear out of Point 72.

Realistically though, they're one of the largest shops in town and have been around for a while. I think most people would leap at the chance to work at a fund that size
