History major for equity research
I am currently majoring in econ and minoring in history at a non-target, small lib arts school. I'm entering my junior year now. I had a decent GPA that took quite a dip last semester. So far, I've taken intro in econ and money and banking. Although I've done well in those two classes, I am concerned that my GPA will not rise as much as I would like if I keep an econ major. I am confident it will rise quite a bit, however, if I were to switch to history. I am currently looking to do equity research at a small or medium firm (looking at Brown Brothers Harriman and William Blair). I am attempting to get an internship during my collegiate career. I should not I am trying to do a study abroad at Cambridge and take some econ classes there.
So will I be screwed if I switch to history? Could I still sit for Level 1 CFA and not be killed? If I've a good GPA and an internship, will that compensate for a lib arts major?
