Holiday reading (non finance)
Hey monkeys, Would appreciate a few recommendations for books I want to download as audio books. Already have a tonne of technical books from work, so just looking for something light and inspirational for the flight (e.g.: Full House, Alchemist e.t.c.).
SBs for links to audio-book download links.
If you have any interest in physics or the universe in general, A Brief History Of Time by Stephen Hawking isn't very term- or formula-heavy, but a very interesting read.
Wolf of Wall Street Decision Points if you're a Bush guy. Alchemist is a great book.
Alchemist? C'mon... that's sh*tty self-help, read some decent literature
In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks - Adam Carolla
Dead serious. Awesome book and a very quick and light read.
I actually bought "American Colossus: The Triumph of Capitalism 1865-1900" and it's really interesting. Sort of thick, but gives good sociopolitical and economic context for the rise of Carnegie, Vanderbilt, Morgan, etc.
Here you go. Old, long, you will have to pay...but also exactly what you described.
I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell is hilarious if you haven't read it. Hilarious.
I'll also recommend both of Tim Ferriss's books: The Four Hour Work Week and The Four Hour Body - both fascinating.
^^^^^^^ same guy recently came out with a follow up - "A$$holes Finish First". some pretty humorous stories and a quick read
