Holy bibles of discretionary global macro (or investing in general)?
So I was recently reading one of Howard Mark’s memos on value investing for curiosity sake and I see that he listed both Graham’s Intelligent Investor and Securities Analysis as bibles for value investors. This got me to think about the bibles for discretionary global macro, which I can’t think of anything else besides the alchemy of finance.
So besides George Soros’ Alchemy of Finance, what other books are considered a bible for global macro investing?
And if you follow an investment approach other than global macro or value investing (ex: Ed Thorpe’s stuff for quant), what are the bibles for your craft?
Everything that comes out of Ray Dalio's mouth?
You mean like "cash is trash" just before a 35% covid market drawdown?
Dalio runs a good business, but his fund performance has sucked for a long time, and his macro commentary/insight is mediocre.
I guess ppl just can't take sarcasm no more. Well, plus a fundamental guy over here trying to talk macro. Wtf do I know (shrug)
