Honest Appraisal
I'd like to start of by giving a big thanks to the posters here, WSO is an amazing resource for career-advice.
I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if I could receive some strategy advice re: my career.
Background: I am a senior accounting student at WashU, majoring in accounting and looking for placement in New York.
My resume:
Experiences:
Year-long accounting internship at government utilities company, rotational program had me in almost every department relating to accounting.
Manager at a local pool: oversaw 12 lifeguards, performed duties that kept the pool up and running, i.e. maintenance, delegation, customer-service
Lifeguard: performed life-saving duties and some maintenance
Grades:
3.3 overall, 3.1 professional, accounting major
Extracurriculars:
Performed in school orchestra, small portfolio of art and design work, partner in a business with a decently large following on pinterest
Tl;dr: senior accounting student with a mediocre resume at a T20 school, how should I strategize going forward with my career?
Looking for some honesty and free advice, feeling a bit confused as to my current options.
