Monkeys,
Been bored at WFH and reading posts about hook up culture at bank lately. I understand that hooking up with someone in your group and even people at higher levels can be very risky in terms of getting your reputation ruined; but I don't see how this cannot happen when you are constantly working long hours with people of opposite sex and getting close on a personal level. Obviously you have to balance it, but how often does this happen and what are some of the worst case scenarios you have seen? Also I understand that it may be risky for FT employees to be hooking up but it should be less risky for SAs as long as you are doing your work well and it's not a long-term obligation, right ? Would love to hear your inputs and stories on this topic.

Are you asking about SAs hooking up with other SAs or like with others FT?
SAs with other SAs
What happens when you start full time and have a 2-year obligation to see that person 80+ hours/week?
I have absolutely no idea how true this is, but I heard a story of a guy sleeping with the daughter of a BB exec. He ended up getting an SA after that. The story is she put in a good word.
Moral of the story: if you meet the daughter of a banking exec, break her back.
Lmao but this is not "in workplace" girl seems to have been nice enough to put in good word if things went well and not go behind his back even if things went bad.
Don't shit where you eat. I can't stress this enough.
Don't like going anon but I will for that.
I was in high school with the daughter of a global group head at my current bank, I was involved/interested in recruiting for this group until I figured who the group head was - had no clue back in high school of what her dad was doing. Looking back no regrets, but I wouldn't recommend hooking up with people at work.
Dude, no.
Just keep it in your fucking pants. Be a man & be professional.
There are plenty of birds on tinder to stick your prick in.
Cheers
appropriate that your profile pic is bill clinton
Ethically and morally speaking, don't do it. However, if you do engage in this, at least make sure you will get a guaranteed benefit of career advancement.
Epstein dated Ace Greenberg's daughter, who he had formerly taught in HS...
So remember there is no honor amongst thieves
I've seen it happen a million times without a problem, and I've seen it go bad a few times. Where it can go bad is when the hooking up stops, because often times one of the parties didn't want it to stop. That creates tension in the office which can get ugly.
My advice would be, first of all, avoid it if you can. But if its too late for that, then do everything you can to convince her (while you're on her good side) that the office is sacrosanct and no matter what happens, nobody deserves to have their career hurt. So no telling others, no office drama, etc. Get that into her head every chance you get so that when she's pissed at you later, she feels like she committed to not crossing that line.
Happens a decent amount at the analyst level.
I think it depends, if it was a scenario where you could both keep it professional and cool and not have attachments afterwards then may not be too risky whereas if you are happen to sit next to each other and hooked up and are in a situation to work with each other for a while, might be highly risky. And if things go bad, you never know what might happen.
A girl analyst in my group hooked up with three guys (in the same group) over the course of her first 1.5 years. None of the three guys knew about the others until the group Christmas party where they all thought they were getting lucky with her in the same night. Hate to see it happen tbh.
Lmao she wild
Must have been one hell of an after party.
whats_your_safety_word
she belongs to the streeeeeeets
How did the girl keep it undercover for so long lmao
If you are in a position where you will never see her again and believe the girl won't go crazy if it ends bad or can learn to keep it professional why not
