Houlihan Lokey Interview
I have a phone interview with Houlihan Lokey tomorrow afternoon, for a summer analyst internship. I am being interviewed by a VP in the aerospace and defense group, though I am not sure if the internship would have me move around or stay in that group.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to expect? I have heard HL is known for their stringent and technical interviews, but I didn't know if I should expect those questions tomorrow or if tomorrow is more of a background, resume review, and the technical questions come in person (if you get another interview)?
Any information would be extremely helpful because I am scrambling to try and get as prepared as possible.
Thanks
I don't work at HL, but I've interviewed w/ multiple groups in their NYC and Chicago offices, PM me if you want.
Be honest about what you do know and don't
I had interview with HL during recruitment for FT and got drilled on LBO stuff. I would know the basics on www.ibankingfaq.com and of course story, why HL, why banking....but also get familiar with A&D space and recent deals...feel free to PM
Pike, I took a lot of LBO questions b/c I have LBO transactions on my resume; was there a reason for your LBO Q's?
Have you heard back yet about whether you were invited to the superday? I had my phone interview over a week ago, and I'm starting to think they just forgot to send me my rejection email lol.
HL is known for their stringent and difficult interviews! I applied more than a month ago for a summer analyst position but haven't hrd anything back yet. Do you actually get a rejection email? So what was the toughest part in the technical interview?
I heard back about super day the next morning (after my phone interview). The phone interview was more technical than the super day for me, although neither were particularly stringent. PM me if you want more info on what I thought of my 2 interviews
I had on campus first round for HL NYC, got the call next morning for the superday. For the superday, had 4 back to back interviews at their offices ranging from purely technical to all fit/normal conversation. The people are really nice and the interviews tend to be slightly more technical than others.
