Houston/Oil&Gas Investment Banking Prospects

Interested in hearing your thoughts about the short and long term prospects on IB in Houston/O&G.
I know oil is not going away any time soon. However, do you think the banking presence/headcount in Houston will decrease gradually over the next few years/decades? I know shops like EVR have been on a tear with deals and hiring as a result, but the same cannot be said for others.

As the oil and gas, and specifically, the shale industry matures further, will the necessity for investment banking services taper?

Would it be safer to pick another veritcal to participate in as a banker?

Thank you.

As consumers demand more clean energy and it becomes more viable, it seems like a transition is a matter of when not if.
