How are CRE Teams/Experience at Commercial Banks Viewed?
Quick background before getting to my question... Currently I work in a back office role in lifeco's CRE group. I've cross-trained a bit with our credit team and I liked the work. Down the road, I'd like to get some experience in Asset Management or in acquisitions.
How would experience as a credit analyst at a commercial bank be viewed, either in general or with regard to the considerations above? I may have an opportunity to pursue a credit analyst position at a large commercial bank (think Citi, TD, BOA, WF) and am curious how those shops and that experience are viewed by the industry.
It's leagues better than your current role given your goals.
