How are you quickly qualifying investment opportunities?
I used to be at an operationally-focused industrials and business services PE firm where we occasionally looked at CIMs brought to us by bankers and did sourcing through our senior folks and trusted operators.
I recently transitioned to a Technology-focused Growth Fund which gets multiple CIMs very often. I am struggling with the barrage on investment memos I am expected to write and quickly qualifying investment opportunities into go vs no-go. My VP says I shouldn't be taking "this long" but I feel very inundated. Any tips on what analysis (market, financial, drivers, risks etc.) you are running to quickly get through these and speed up the process?
