How best, to prepare for a summer analyst interview in a bulge bracket real estate investing group?
Hi guys,
I was just hoping, if you had a minute, if you could please provide some guidance on how best, to prepare for a summer analyst interview in a bulge bracket real estate investing group - especially from the technical side. Also, should I be aware of any specific current news relating to real estate?
Grab and excel for dummies book and start googling "Real Estate News" a bunch.

I have a first round interview with Morgan Stanley's Real Estate Investment Management group (Summer Analyst). I was wondering if anyone on here could give me some pointers in regards to what I should be looking over. Should I focus on traditional banking-esque questions (DCF, Financial Statements, etc.) or is there something more I should be studying? ER Does anyone have any inside info on culture, workload, etc?
Thanks so much for the help - I really appreciate it.
Probably more fit. Have a good answer for "why real estate."
I doubt they'll ask anything about DCFs/linking the statements so don't focus on that.
Are there RE fit questions that are traditionally asked in these interviews? I haven't had the opportunity to interview for an RE firm before so this is painfully new to me. Thanks so much for the input - anyone else have an opinion?
Not very familiar, but I'll guess that it will be more RE focused vs. "banking." Maybe something about cap rates, recent trends, capital structure in typical deal, different MSAs, etc.
@CuriousGeorge15
UK maybe?
anyway good stuff, it should be an awesome internship great buyside placement for MS REI afaik
also, interview should be mostly fit i would suggest searching among these lines on google: "m&i real estate modelling"
there should be plenty of articles with nice basic info, maybe not directly relevant to your job, but a nice interview prep nevertheless
good luck & keep us posted
