Nearly every investment bank has a policy against its RRs discussing specific investment opportunities in online forums. If you work for a bank, you might want to read up on your own policy.
i don't. im a sophomore. i find it hard to believe that by giving an example of a particular stock that's linked to art is against bb policies.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."
New York- just google "art auction house" See if any of them are publicly traded. Chances are, the ones that are will have their own galleries and art inventory if you go through their annual reports. Really wish I could help you more, but I have to follow firm policy.
Dude, you asked me for help and I gave as much as I could. If I worked outside of finance, I'd be giving you the ticker(s) so you could look it(them) up. Unfortunately, my firm won't allow me to do that- likely because of potential lawsuits. That said, it's sitting right there in front of you. Google "art auction houses", go down the results, and see if you can find any of those firms are publicly traded using finance.yahoo.com. I don't think you'll find the first publicly-traded auction house buried three or four pages down.
BTW, I haven't thrown anything. Just take five minutes and I'm pretty sure you'll find something.

Aren't there art funds floating around? Not exactly sure what they are though, ETF's?
Some of the auction houses are publicly traded and have their own art portfolios. Obviously, I can't discuss specific stocks online.
why is it obvious that you can't discuss specific stocks online?
