How do I use standard and poor/capital IQ to find and screen deals?

I'm a sophomore. So I'm trying to find information on deals and transactions to talk about in interviews. How do I use standard and poor/capital iq to screen for transactions and deals? Under the Screening Tab, I only see it allows me to screen for companies and equities, but not transactions. I there any other resources that I can use to find financial information about deals from BBs?

I am looking for deals that MS has done in O&G space, so any advice on how to approach finding financials/numbers about those transactions would be helpful.

Tons of resources without a database. Some banks put them on their websites. If you are going to a balance sheet bank they will likely be in SEC filings and registrations. Press releases often mention the name of an advisor on a deal etc. Just google around.

Using Databases.

On CapIQ Screening > Transactions > Then add Transaction Advisor

FactSet lets you do similar as does Bloomberg (MA <GO>).

In tech 451 Research is the best. Honestly, the best way to make it into banking is to find an analyst who will mentor you and then just ask them for recent transactions.
