how do you deal with MD getting fired?

one MD got fired from our team. they didn’t clearly state he was fired but I deduced it. they said no-one else was going anywhere. but first, I have so much respect for the MD. he is a very smart guy, is it okay to reach out to him and have a connection? also, the fact that my team made this move made me so anxious about my job. how do people have a job then one day they don’t?

Yep, sucks. You at big firm or small firm?

Regarding reaching out, touchy subject. But maybe an email thanking him for all of his help/ knowledge and hoping that you get to work together again would be appropriate.
