How do you keep a fresh breath throughout the day?
I'm not gonna lie, I tend to have smelly breath after two or three hours of not eating anything, even when I constantly drink water. I have tried eating mints with or without sugar but I feel like they work for 30 mins or so. Same with brushing my teeth. Obviously the best would be to eat a small snack but that just leads me to over eating. How do you guys control bad breath?
floss
Sounds like you need some SmartMouth.
1) You may not be brushing your teeth correctly, I’m not gonna explain how to do that...but just make sure to always brush THE BACK of your tongue and use mouthwash for 30 seconds after. Brush twice a day, no exceptions.
2) Start with #1, if that still isn’t working, you may have something wrong in there. Gingivitis? Wisdom teeth making it harder to brush? Some other shit that may require a root canal? If you notice something might be off, head to the dentist.
3) You’ve done 1&2 and you still have a problem with breath. I always use spearmint or double mint chewing gum from Wrigley. Works like a charm and after a while chewing on something while doing menial tasks becomes therapeutic. Pop in a piece of gum when you notice the morning mint from brushing your teeth is wearing off. Toss out and reapply as necessary around the times you eat. Definitely don’t chew gum during a meeting/having to talk to someone important.
I usually chew about 3 sticks a day.
Hope this is helpful, there’s nothing worse than talking to somebody with stank breath so I’m glad you’re at least self aware enough to try and fix it. Good luck
Regarding mouthwash: Make sure there's no alcohol in it, as the presence of alcohol will eventually dry out your mouth and make your breath worse later in the day.
Floss twice a day, get a sonicare tooth brush and please use a tongue scraper at least once a day.
Also I chew gum all the time, helps keep your jaw healthy as an added perk.
I love the Jim Gaffigan bit when he talks of gum as training for eating lol.
Could be a nutrition issue, lack of hydration
If you're chugging La Croix all day like I recommend, you'll face this less. Also, green tea.

"Foods and Drinks That Make Your Breath Smell Good
Water. This odor-free fluid helps flush from the mouth the bits of food bacteria feed upon. Drinking water promotes the production of saliva, which acts as a constant cleansing agent and dissolves stinky substances in food and drink.
Sugarless gum. Chewing gum loosens food and dead cells from the teeth, gums, and tongue and fosters saliva production.
Vankevich says sugar-free gum sweetened with xylitol is particularly effective for fighting bad breath because xylitol inhibits mouth bacteria.
To get the full effect of chewing xylitol-sweetened gum, munch it for at least five minutes after meals, Mallonee recommend
Fruits and vegetables . Foods rich in vitamin C, such as red bell pepper and broccoli, create an inhospitable environment for mouth bacteria. They work even better to fight bad breath when eaten raw, as crunchy produce of any kind is mechanically abrasive and helps to loosen trapped food particles.
Yogurt: Japanese researchers found that eating about 3 ounces of sugar-free yogurt with probiotic (good) bacteria twice a day for six weeks reduced bad breath by helping to lower the levels of odor-causing sulfide compounds. To best mimic the study's effects, eat yogurt that supplies strains of streptococci and lactobacilli bacteria.
"Fortified yogurt is also great source of vitamin D, which helps reduce mouth bacteria," Mallonee tells WebMD. Other sources of vitamin D include fortified milk and orange juice, salmon, and eggs.
Herbs and spices. Parsley contains chlorophyll, which may have a deodorizing effect in the mouth. Other plant products linked to better breath include cloves, anise, and fennel seeds. While employing herbs and spices to mitigate bad breath is rooted more in folklore than science, it doesn't hurt to try.
Why Your Breath Gets Stinky The most common cause of bad breath isn't a smelly food. It's bacteria in your mouth.
“The microbes that reside in your mouth feast on food particles and dead cells, producing sulfur compounds that cause halitosis,” Harper Mallonee says.
Brush your teeth twice a day, and floss once to remove the debris that results in bad breath, the American Dental Association advises.
“It’s also important to clean your tongue,” says Vankevich."
To add on the Vitamin D - you should really be taking 5000 IU per day or 10,000 IU per day if you workout a lot.
i've heard more than 2000iu a day for long periods can have detrimental effects
As an analyst don't worry too much about your breath, they always smell like MD balls
Drinks a TON of water and avoid sugary foods. Eating crunchy fruit like apples helps too.
or celery probably
I have the exact same issue as you. 90%+ of bacteria in your mouth sits on your tongue. Get a tongue scraper. I use a metal one daily and I've noticed a HUGE change. I also make sure I'm brushing my wisdom teeth as much as possible - lots of scraps can get stuck there and it's easy to forget.
Do you use the scraper in the morning or evening?
Both! Doesn't take me more than 15-30secs to scrape the entire tongue and makes all the difference regarding breath. Hope you see value in it!
Juul cool mint
be in good health it's a sign of poor health to have halitosis youre not supposed to need breath mints stop eating shit and go exercise drink some water
