How Do You See the Industry Heading if Bernie is Elected
Hi all,
I saw there was some discussion of this back in 2016 but since Bernie just entered the 2020 race, how do y’all see the state of IB headed if he wins the election this time around? He’s already mentioned goals of breaking up the big banks. What kind of effects would this have on investment banking in particular? Would there be a bunch of elite-boutique type firms? Curious what you guys think.
Down.
Beat me to it. And the headline didn't need to specify the IB industry. Your answer applies to industry in general.
All forms of business will suffer. Bernie & Co. are completely worthless...
Stuff like free/subsidized education makes sense since it makes the American work force better to hire out of for companies and creates equality of opportunity but his other policies are truly insane.
While it would suck for everything business if he or E. Warren were to win, I would imagine there would be significant backlash at midterm elections to the other side. So, the question is how much damage could he do if Dems have both sides of Congress for his first two years? Probably a lot.
Backlash won't be permitted if Bernie wins. The media will stand as the praetorian guard and his "supporters" (antifa and such) would patrol the streets.
He will never be president. Establishment Dems would never even let him win the primary. He’s been getting hurt badly by the sexual assault allegations. And Fauxcahontas is actually a worse candidate than Hillary Clinton.
No point in discussing such far-fetched scenarios.
