How Does Commitment to a NPO Activity Look On a Resume?

How do recruiters and banks look at NPO extracurricular activities that a potential hire from college has devoted himself too.
I'm currently highly involved in a NPO with a significant leadership position.
I mean they don't really scream finance and banking, since the goals of these organizations aren't profit driven.
Would it look bad or good?

Are all extracurriculars good so long as the applicant has undertaken a leadership position or has contributed significantly to the organization?

NPO meaning...... Non-profit organization... right??

Any leadership experience is great. even if its not finance. I went into my interviews with lots of leadership positions, most of them Greek-oriented. IFC/my own fraternity. They loved that i chose other leadership positions like in ur case, Philanthropy. They liked how i was diverse and that many candidate just choose Finance leadership positions and are so generic.
