How does does first year analyst at a MF (BX, KKR) make?
I've been quoted a discretionary bonus but not sure what I can expect for total comp - from what I heard from the recruiter, she made it sound like it was around 100%. But people here say around 40-50% - does anyone have any insight on this?
Want to know for budgeting purposes - rent, etc.
100% sounds right to me. Also you should get a feeling from the base salary, if it's below street or not
Base is 110k for reference!
Damn what's your position to get a $110K base salary as 1st year analyst?
Depends if you are on AM or Acq. If it’s acquisitions 100% sounds right if it’s AM 50% is probably closer to reality
From what I've heard pay at BX RE is the same across teams until you reach senior associate, but I'm not 100% sure
BX also pays below street at the analyst level. Similar to the “Goldman discount”
I thought there was no longer a Goldman discount - considering pay bumps?

Not true
This is not true, there is no discount - base is $120k with a 100% bonus target
not true in Europe, base higher than any BB/EB
Following. Curious to hear what MF Analyst base and bonus is at BX, KKR, Carlyle, TPG, Apollo, Brookfield, GSAM, JPMAM, MSREI, and Oaktree. I've seen all of them take Analysts in RE.
I think some dont hire fresh out of college... pretty sure Carlyle, Fortress, Oaktree only take experienced analysts/associates as far as I know. Comp high 200s for a few years of exp at those.
Is that an experienced Associate pay, or Analyst? Not sure about Carlyle or Fortress, but Oaktree took Analysts out of college.
Carlyle doesn’t hire directly from school and their RE division lowest level is Associate - they pull in about $200-250k all-in
KKR AM associate level pulls in $150k-175k, can’t confirm pay on the acq. side
Wow KKR AM honestly pretty weak. That's first year IB pay now. Expected more
Yea echoing the above - think these numbers definitely could have moved up I heard that number throw out like 1.5 years ago so probably higher now since IB has upped their salaries as well.
Definitely would still rather be at KKR AM pulling $150k working 50-60 hours a week instead of IB making $200k working 80+ hours but that’s just personal preference

When you get to the actual offer stage and not just talking to the recruiter stage, you can then ask the hr department or someone in your group for guidance.
No need to worry about all these things until you actually have an offer.
They just say discretionary - they try not to give a percentage. Hard to put a number on it, don't know when would be the right time to ask colleagues?
What about Ares for An1?
