How does full time group placement work at GS/MS/JPM?
I'm a current intern at a lower-tier BB (one of Barclays/UBS/DB), and though obviously my main focus now is getting a return offer, I'm planning to recruit for full time in August. I'm at a target and have some contacts at top-tier BBs, but I'm wary of the possibility of being taken on only to fill a spot in a less-desirable group, at which point I would rather stay at my current shop/focus on EBs. Does anyone have familiarity with how the full-time process works with respect to group placement? Are interviews conducted entirely by groups? Do you receive offers directly to a certain group? Or are you only offered as a generalist? Thanks!

One of these banks is not like the others...
ETA: Barclays duh
why are you like this
just want to know if you're interning in my group. If you're at a target and have contacts, then why aren't you at a top tier?
it is my understanding that GS and MS interview and extend offers on a group-by-group basis
Barclays is a top 5 BB in the US, not a "lower-tier"
ok
Is there a formal application for full time and is networking similar to how it is for SA?
GS will assign you to a group - usually whichever group's MD interviewed you for the superday
MS has a matching process after recieving an offer
JPM is unclear
JPM is group-specific FT recruitment. You choose group before applying. Not all groups are hiring for FT
