How does Warburg Tech work
My understanding:
-
IBS = Large cap tech buyouts
-
Tech = Growthy deals
My questions for each, mainly about the Senior Associate level (thinking about destination post- my current Associate program or post- bschool)
-
Sourcing (Y/N)
-
Hours (better than street UMM/MF, same as street, worse than street)
-
Culture (hierarchical vs. autonomous, personal life ok (e.g., vacations holidays) vs always expected to work through)
-
Typical level of portfolio involvement
-
Diligence style (e.g., crazy detailed models, macro-picture investors, make money through M&A, etc.)
-
Returns underwritten (e.g., does growth team look for 3-5x, look for venture-y returns, how do they underwrite)
-
Staffing (do you pick who you work with, can you choose which areas to focus on if you are sourcing, etc.)
Or should I just call Henkel and say I want to talk about Warburg Tech
I'll happily take PMs too if any Warburg employees are lurking and don't want to speak publicly
Please do yourself a favor and avoid IBS:
Why do you say so? sweaty?
Late-stage Tech is done in the new “Strategic Investments Group”.
Do you know any more about the NY office for SIG/Tech?
Bump. Anyone know anything about SIG or any further info about the Tech group for the An/As levels?
