How have you raised money for charity in the past?

Hey Guys, I'm signing up for AIDS Lifecycle next week and am a bit weary of the fundraising aspect. If any of you have done this type of thing before or any philanthropic fundraising (I know there's been a few of the boxing matches for charity posts), any advice you could give would be awesome.

Assuming your in school...

-Sports tournaments- dodge ball, 3 on 3 basketball, paintball, volleyball or any other popular sports on campus -Raffles (check your school rules for this) -5k/10k runs -Cook off or any revenue generating food event -Charity concert -Selling event related merch (make sure this is authorized) -Sponsored trips- foreign country, skiing, cruise, spring break or whatever

I've helped raise close to six figures in a semester using a combination of stuff from the list above. The best advice I can give you is to get some friends to help you with any fundraising endeavor you take up.
