SPOILERS

it sucked....when i first saw it. Then I rewatched the last 10 minutes again and it was okay. I think the mother dying is okay.. but it just looks like a total cop out when robin and ted end up together at the very end. Separately, I don't mind the mother dying or the fact that the robin and ted ended up together; but, the fact that both of those things happened makes me really hate the ending.

It really bugged me... they spend all season building up Robin and Barney's marriage only to have it end in divorce 20 minutes in. And then having Ted marry his best friends ex wife? Not cool. That ruined the whole finale IMO.

hankyfootball:

The amount of ground they covered in the finale warranted, at minimum, a full season's worth of episodes.

ditto, but then i think i would have stopped watching... hell 1/2 the reason i watch this season was because i was so invested i just needed to see it though but overall i think they should have ended this 2 seasons ago.
