How important are colleges awards and case competition?

Incoming sophomore at a target, currently interning as a M&A Research Analyst. I have another PE internship offer lined up right after, good grades and all, but I’ve never focused on case competitions and school awards. Awards such as Deans List, Scholarships, Research Assistant etc.. Instead of case competitions, I post my own equity reports on my blog cause its my interest and I have full propriety over them. I am a varsity sport captain, and have a fairly good chance of attaining some awards if I put in the time and effort in school, but is it worth it? Do BBs like some case competition awards or scholarships?

From my experience recruiting this past cycle for summer 2022, case competitions only really help if A) you don't have any finance-related experience or B) if it is a very impressive case competition. With that being said, you have more than enough experience to be positioned well for BBs. In terms of scholarships, is it a basic scholarship that 25+% of students get, or is it actually something that would make you stand out?

Also - how are you a varsity sport captain as a sophomore
