how is a thank you letter perceived when it is sent cold after interview?
If you interview with someone and this person never gave you his/her email address, how is it perceived when you cold email a thank you? can it give off a negative vibe and wonder how I got their email? I also used this person's nickname (correctly) as I used linkedin to view this person up
does it matter or would it be better to request the email addresses in the future?
Asking for contact information after the interview will make things easier on you.
Now, use a little common sense. "This guy thanked me for my time. What an asshole." No one is going to say that. Of course it is ok to send a thank you email in this situation.
You're over analyzing. A thank you never hurts.
I think it doesn't hurt
