How is RBC's M&A group in NYC?

From reading previous posts on WSO, it seems like RBC is a strong player on the debt side of things due to its huge balance sheet. I understand that Lev Fin is its strongest banking group, but I personally have no interest in Lev Fin or any type of markets oriented groups...

So how is RBC's NYC office when it comes to M&A work? I feel like most of the M&A deals they advise on, they just have their name attached with 2-3 other banks only because they are helping financing the deal. Does RBC actually do any true strategic M&A work? Cant seem to find deals where they are the exclusive financial advisor (always on deals with BBs or EBs)
