How long do banks have our resume

I was wondering that do banks have our old resumes as well and will they ever refer to them. If I am applying to a bank for a FT position and I had also applied to the same bank for a SA position will they ever go back and look at my SA resume. In my case my resume has changed a lot now so was wondering if there is a chance that they might look at the previous one. For targets I guess only the book of resumes would be made so it might not be as applicable but for those companies that require website application it might be an issue. Thanks

Depends, I have heard mixed stories. I believe most banks would throwout resumes that they never looked at or that did not make the cut. I have heard of a few stories of interviewers having the resume of a person that made it into the second or third round of interviews for SA and than interviewing FT. The resume contained notes on areas of weakness and what the other interview asked. That was for Goldman, but I don't know about the other BB.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."

That makes sense Gekko as only the candidates who almost got the offer or were invited to the Superday. They might have their old resumes being reviewed again, the rest I guess they would never be looked at as their must be hundreds / thousands who would have applied. I was wondering what happens to candidates from Target schools as for them the book is made. Will the book be referred to again ? For FT recruiting again the book will be made and the resume selection process would be made through the book.

thanks for the help but generally no one will ever go back to that folder while going through resume selection process and choosing candidates for a new recruiting cycle.
