How low can your GPA fall if you have an offer?

At the end of last summer, I got an offer letter from a BB for a full-time investment banking position. I left the internship with a 3.7/4.3 GPA (~80-84%) and I really let myself go last semester and now my GPA's a 3.59/4.3. The letter said that they will look at my transcript again before I start and I'm trying to bring my GPA back to a 3.7 now. Am I making too big of a deal out of this/would they retract the offer if my GPA is lower?

Will my lower GPA Affect My Job Offer?

It’s widely agreed amongst our users that GPAs are extremely relevant when trying to get the interview but once you get the job, it doesn’t matter as much. If your grades dipped in the first semester, make sure they improve next semester. You will want to keep your marks up for the sake of B-School down the line but in terms of your current offer, you should be fine.

User @……….. elaborates:

I never had my GPAon my resume, and my BB had on their website a 3.2 min (although in practical terms it was probably higher), and when I showed up for training I brought my transcript with a 2.8 on it and the HR lady couldn't have cared less. I believe her exact words were "well done." I feel like once you get an offer all that matters is graduating. Especially if you interned there. They hired you on your work from the previous summer.

Does anyone know a single person who had an offer retracted like this? I never had my GPA on my resume, and my BB had on their website a 3.2 min (although in practical terms it was probably higher), and when I showed up for training I brought my transcript with a 2.8 on it and the HR lady couldn't have cared less. I believe her exact words were "well done." I feel like once you get an offer all that matters is graduating. Especially if you interned there. They hired you on your work from the previous summer, who gives a fuck if you dick around senior year? That's what it's for. Enjoy your offer and quit stressing

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Well, your days in banking are over...

Personally, I'd have more questions for you if your GPA increased your senior year. No one cares after you have a job, don't worry about your GPA.

HR, at this point, zero fucks given. Just make sure you graduate before you start training. That is, literally the only thing they'll check / care about.

I know someone who worked at a BB bank that didn't even complete his degree. You'd be shocked at how little they care.

Yeah, I mean that very well could be true, but that's def. someone who just straight got lucky and HR must have completely forget he / she existed. They won't check your transcripts or whatever but they will need verification of graduation.
