How many bankers smoke the chronic?
Okay, maybe Harold and Kumar isn't something to get my information from, but what percentage of bankers smoke do you think? Just because I knew I wanted to go in the military I never did in High School, and now that I am in I never have. I don't plan on doing it, but I sometimes think I am a little naive to think most haven't. Are drug tests frequent at banks? Imagine if they did them right before bonuses as a way to claw back funds?

.
tons of people do. you get drug tested before you start and thats it. no random drug tests, this isnt the NFL
I'd say coke is more prevalent.
I thought that was more of a myth in IB?
Why don't you just smoke normal cigarettes?
bahaha do i even need to answer this?
love this thread, hope santa left a bag of chronic in each of your stockings today!
.
Wow I really hope you were 1. kidding or 2. are 12 years old
You're mistaken twice here. I'm not kidding in the slightest. Personally, I do smoke normal cigarettes, but have never taken any drugs.
You've never lived unless you've freebased cocaine.
I know a bunch of bankers that smoke when they get loose. As iambateman said, you only get tested before you start.
There are two main drugs in banking, Coke and Reefer. About 90% of the people I'm close with in my area (general seating that is), smoke pot. I would estimate that a third or so of the office smokes pot. Every drinks and I know maybe 3-4 people on my floor that do blow. Mind you, I work on a floor of about 200 ppl.
3 or 4 that you know of probably roughly equates to 46 or 47 that use but aren't talking about it.
Definitely agree with that.
I've done blow in the middle of the day at my desk before. I also have used meth, but more for work than recreationally. I used to sprinkle it in my coffee. Even sprinkled it in other people's a few times, without their knowledge of course. Mostly lazy analysts dragging ass after a rough week, and once a sleep deprived bitchy VP so he would stop fuckin berating me for every one of his own mistakes.
I smoked a lot more in college because I had the time, but whenever I can blaze I do. Including when I have to come in on weekends. It's not like I'll be on a conference call and need to be sharp in case something happens quickly. But I avoid being ripped during the week for obvious reasons. Although lately, I've been a bit less strict with myself.
In the words of Snoop Dogg "smoke weed every day." -NVS
I believe that was Nate Dogg (RIP)
Since we're asking about drugs, do amphetamines (adderall, etc.) see much use at banks, or do bankers stick with caffeine to get through those all-nighters?
The only narcotic I use on a regular basis is cocaine, it's a great study aid when Red Bull just won't cut it. Surprisingly, I've never tried weed, although everyone around me does.. Meth, now there's some terrible sh!t, Marcus.. I hope you don't have that 'meth mouth" shit... And to answer LeoPTY, adderall is VERY widely used, I used to see it all the time.

i fly like paper and get high like planes.
We're about to enter a Great Depression. Don't you want a president who's already dressed for it?
So is there no stigma towards the people that openly do coke?
The drug use for work.. is it specific to PE, IB, etc. that require all nighters, or do people in S&T also do it? I guess this is specific to drugs other than marijuana..
I have never seen people in S&T people do drugs on the job. There is no need to - you only work 12 hour days, 5 days a week. However, a lot of S&T people smoke cigarettes throughout the day to calm down. The only time that I know of when S&T people do drugs is by smoking at home after work or doing blow when they go out at night.
is the original drug test a pee test or a hair test, cause both of those have very different time frames that they can go back to, hair being the longest
Usually it's a piss test. I have never heard of anyone having to get a hair sample taken and from what I understand, hair sample testing is quite expensive. I can imagine a goverment job might take a hair sample, but not banking.
