How many former athletes on here

How many people on this forum played collegiate sports? Being a former college athlete myself I'm curious to know whether or not my network is largely former athletes because of the mutual connection, or if there are just a ton of athletes in CRE/finance.

I did one semester of Cross Country in college.

I think it would have been pretty cool to play football though, except not at the school I went to. That football team sucks.

Rowing for the win.

I played chess.

<ducks>

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Anyone wants to challenge me 1-on-1 in basketball or in ping pong 🏓 - i live for this. Dangerous forehand. Have an NBA regulation hoop w/ breakaway rim & regulation table in basement w/ 20-30 3-star balls. Chelsea Piers Guest pass / Spin NYC are both awesome options too. Loser pays for Ferragamo tie + dinner if we get along, as 1 idea. Who is looking to compete out there? Also can compete in Tennis 🎾 unless you're very ELITE. Win or lose, happy to provide mentorship in Lev fin space…but who lives in NJ/NYC areas that's down to BATTLE??!?

Also ELITE at:

1) Mario Kart 64 (Peach) - depends if you cheat w/ that little boost trick - which will make it closer - but I can still beat you bc I’m better hugging the lines. Only interested in Star/Special Cup

2) Mario Tennis 64 (Mario, sometimes Paratroopa) - guarantee victory

3) Mario Kart Wii - I will put it out there and guarantee victory (Mario). Crowned champion in college. Ppl always got close, but I always won by a little bc my driving was meticulous.

Kind of a cocky post, hope I dont come off the wrong way - but just looking to rattle the cage and spark some emotion of someone who feels the same way about themselves as I do and wants to settle the score.

Well then Terrell, let’s get it on shall we? Look—you may be able to score in a regular 5 on 5 but this is 1-on-1 and I am an ELITE defender. So you better pull a rabbit out of a hat or have some moves - just don’t expect open looks. On my side - pretty simple imma drive in on you EVERY time. 3 or 5 or 7 game series (TBU - prob 3 or 5), games to 11, 1s and 2s, win by 2. Winners. Change of possession / D rebound take it out to the 3-pt to reset. You like? DM me

Played HS tennis at a nationally competitive program - don't have racquets w me but if you provide I'll give you the work

Awesome. Run my ass back n forth. My friend and I usually have an annual tennis championship / mini vacation at his place in Delray Beach, FL. I take pride in doing things well. bring Camcorder recording the footage to gloat on our triumphs, tripod, cans of new balls obviously, Nuun tablets, recovery supps n nutrition - the works for a 2-3 hr battle in 80 degree weather. Hit me up

Calling me a Liar?  Go fuck yourself you piece of shit child. I have revealed enough about myself on this forum that you could look before you type.

Since you are incapable of a genuine idea and will probably end up in Equities in Dallas getting coffee for some 40 year old back office lifer, I turned down South Carolina (during the Tommy Chakin scandal), Army, and a handful of others to go to Yale.

Can athletes here explain how Ivy sports recruitment works?  Why don't the best athletes go to Ivy League schools and instead go to schools which prioritize sports over studies?  Do they all think they are gonna go to the pros and not have to care about schoolwork?
