How many lateral interviews before getting offer? (Associate to Associate)
I'm currently at a small no-name boutique in NYC (Generalist, ~ 10 bankers, smaller M&A deals and Capital Raises)
I've been here for a bit less than a year and have recently started looking at opportunities at larger banks (boutiques & MMs). I've interviewed with 7 firms so far, and got to final rounds with 5 of them; however wasn't able to convert any offers yet.
I know I have some holes to fix when talking about the specifics of certain deals I've worked on, but feel my story is pretty solid otherwise. I know the conversion rate is different for all, but just curious to hear from those at no-name boutiques about their conversion rate at final rounds, is mine pretty atypical or do I just need a few more final rounds before I get that lateral offer?
Thanks!
