How many of your well-qualified friends are internship-less (top schools)?
Just wondering if anyone has well-qualified friends (high GPA, good ECs) from top schools (Ivy League type) who really wanted to get into IB or S&T but could not get an internship.
bunch of younger kids in my frat are in this situation (3.4+ gpas at top state school (umich/uva/unc/cal/ucla type))
let me just put it this way: there are far more people with excellent EC's and top GPAs than spots across all those positions you mentioned.

Too many qualified kids for too few spots.
Senior, 3.75 GPA in business school. He worked at a bank last year, not in IBD, but in portfolio management. He's really fuckin smart, just got fucked by th market.
senior, ee major, 3.5 gpa( it's like top 15 % in my school).
worked at f500 m&a and small boutique ib, havent gotten offer yet.
I have similar stats but worked in a hedge fund before(not serving coffee, i was actually on excel 12 hours a day...)-> 0 offer, 3 2nd round result pending.
Lots of Yalies without internships still... Definitely a bad year this year...
