Jumped off the deep end into startups in the past couple of years and have some choppy work history unfortunately due to companies blowing up.
Wondering if a close to perfect GMAT score would help iron out some of my employment kinks in the application process to bschool?

Was your work history less choppy before you got into start-ups? I think I need more info.
In general, the GMAT is an indication of your ability to excel in grad management education. A consistent work history shows stability and to a certain extent commitment and as well as that employers were satisfied with you. However, the world of start-ups is a different beast. Schools know that. So depending on how "choppy" your work history is and how much growth in responsibility you can show through the moves, whether the start-up went under or not, will determine how much of an issue your work history is.
And of course, a high GMAT can only help.
