Um, this question would be better asked if how many times I was hospitalized for alcohol consumption. The answer to that would be 0, but I can't even to begin to figure out how many times I've binge drank without tossing out an obscene but possibly accurate number.
5-6 times where I truly became ill as a result of the drink and was immobile the next day...0 life-and-death experiences. Have low tolerance and prefer to just drink 2-3 beers max.
(Weeks of college over 4 years) x (Average of 3 days a week) + (Random 10 after college) = (Times I've insanely binge drank)
I can handle a lot though so binge drinking for me does not mean anything dangerous, just countless insane nights.
This is highly accurate...
In my experience, most Americans don't know what binge drinking is.
Wow get destroyed Asatar.
binge drinking in the US of Gay is having a memory blank or buying a double
Isn't that a good thing though? I've seen the English women passed out drunk outside some bar in Shoreditch. Its not attractive.
I typically define it for myself at least as having 15-20 drinks in a night (3-5 hours), which is a decent amount of drinking but not absurd.
I think you would be surprised with how much some Americans, typically those who went to party schools in the US, can drink. I went out with the Australians and Brits 3-4 nights a week during training and loved it
Agree completely. I once shotgunned 12 beers in an hour on homecoming weekend in college... wasn't able to keep it all down obviously (pure volume issue) but won around $300 bucks. This was at a tailgate before the game, and then I went to the game and was fine...
This. It amazes me when we go out to happy hours for work how some of us can throw back 4 or 5 whiskey rocks in the first hour and still hold a perfect convo while others have 3 beers and start saying shit that probably shouldn't be said around co-workers. Although I guess when you have a blend of fratstars, college athletes and Phi Beta Kappa status nerds all in the same group it's gonna be interesting.

By the medical definition, too many to count. Last time I had a physical, my doctor asked me how many drinks I typically have on a Friday or Saturday night. I cut it down by 75% and said it was a good guess. He told me I had a drinking problem.
This question is always ridiculous to me. The definition of binge drinking is like 3-4 drinks in an hour or something. By that definition, every person I have ever had a beer with at a happy hour is a binge drinker. They need to seriously redefine this term.
Edit: Just saw the OP clarified it with "insanely binge drank." What does that even mean?
I blackout around once every 3 months - cycle is usually this : Drink normally -> special event (bday, w/e) -> blackout -> too hungover, filled w/ regret -> tone drinking down to tolerable levels for ~one month -> start to like drinking again -> Drink normally
rinse and repeat
This is the story of my life.
623rd occurred last Saturday
I was keeping count, but I kept blacking out and losing track, so by the most recent tally: 1.
In college, I had a semester where I simply could not stop drinking. Incidentally, I got my highest grades ever that semester, but it would not be a strange thing for me to finish a bottle of vodka along with my class work. I often showed up for exams more-than-tipsy, and went to one of my finals completely drunk. I got an A-. I had a serious smoking problem around that time too.
Perhaps this is why us non-targets aren't trusted...
You stop, lol. There was a time when people like this ran the street... and they created far less economic debacles than the nerds have

It's a vicious cycle, almost like Fat Bastard's! :
"I can't stop eating. I eat because I'm unhappy, and I'm unhappy because I eat. It's a vicious cycle. Now, if you'll excuse me, there's someone I'd like to get in touch with and forgive... myself. "
I thought I binge drank in college. Than I started the real world and began blacking out every weekend. Nothing like waking up next to a random girl who you can't remember her name with her panties on the floor in a pile of someones vomit.
Panties in Vomit - sounds like a great name for a punk rock band...or at least an album cover. Mark Hoppus, I'm looking at you buddy.
real men butt chug
I prefer butt chugging as well
I'm going to assume we're talking blacking out here.
Year 1: inconsequential Years 2/3: average twice/week = 2x2x52 = 208 Years 4/5/6/7: average four/week = 4x4x52 = 832 Year 8: average .5/week = 1.552 = 26 Year 9: average 0/week = 0
Over 1,000, just stopped being worth it.
If you wake up in the same state and are still wearing pants... it doesn't count as binge drinking.
Blacking out: Once a month for 5 years? 60 times? Seems realistic. That's from 22-27. Didn't drink in college.
That's not a fair assessment of myself actually. I definitely didn't black out on all those nights, those would just be 10+ drink nights.
Apparently I am blacking out wayyy too often relative to everyone else in this thread.
False - everyone else isn't blacking out enough haha
It's probably both.
Just let society know that you set your watch to a different time zone. Case closed
Same here...pretty sure its age because I drank a lot back in college and wouldn't get to the state I do now
Am I the only one that thinks blackout = fail? In my humble opinion, the best is when you get buzzed enough that you're just a smidge below the critical blackout point, but not a hair over. It's like blackjack. It's also an art, to have the self awareness to get to that sweet spot. All these comments about brits being passed out on benches or whatnot isn't super impressive.
i prefer the brown out.... tends to leave me with memories of the girl but no memory of bar tab, my dance moves, or the 26 other women I spoke to that weren't ready to make a highly regrettable decision that night
This is it. Going Concern has it right - There's a tender line in there at the 'feel good' stage that can quickly spill over into the 'feel nothing' stage, ha.
I prefer maintaining a constant buzz throughout the day (i.e. the happy state.) Unfortunately society deems you an alcoholic if you drink before noon.
Whoever invents a pill/formula for the constant buzz is going to be a billionaire. Actually, I think they already have something like that in the markets akin to Adderall
is I can be the billionaire now, pls pay me?
