"how much" can I round up?
I know this topic has been discussed ad nauseam, bur i kinda fucked up a little this sem, and lost my 3.7+, and am now down to like 3.66 ish, (might even go down to 3.656 after another grade comes out) ....can i STILL round up to 3.7? I mean i know it makes sense mathematically, but wouldnt HR be like WTF if they a jump from 3.65 to 3.7? if it matters at all, i also put my major gpa of 3.8-3.9 ish, and some pretty advanced classes in math + comp sci + econ on my resume (PDE, stochastic processes, econometrics etc)
sorry for asking this question, i just need a little reassurance right now
Learn the fucking rules of rounding. If it is 3.6500 or higher, you can round to 3.7. Now STFU.
Yes. It's basic math.
How does someone who has a 3.7 not know how to round?
lol i know rules of rounding, what i don't know is if HR knows rounding rules, and if they see like a freaking 0.05 extra poitns of GPA, it might raise a red flag...i mean my friends round from like 3.67/3.68 to 3.7, but wont HR think 3.65 --> 3.7 is pushing it?
Dude, HR knows how to round too. Promise.
If HR raises a red flag for proper rounding, then that should raise a red flag for you to find another employer.
haha just when we got some good forum topics, it always goes back to the gpa rounding questions. makes me wish for the good old days of penny stock ads...
lol, i'm not a superstar that is going to be sitting on 6-7 offers upon graduation that i will have the privilege of choosing my employers...they're the ones choosing me....sorry i'm freaking out right now, i messed up this semester, and needed reassurance
Dude there is nothing incorrect in your resume. As long as you stay at a 3.65 or above you "have a 3.7" when you only express it to the tenths place. If they ask you to give your GPA to the hundreth place then you obviously cannot say 3.70 but as was said, relax you are fine and you should know that.
To the nearest hundredth.
