How Much Does Umer Raffat Make?

Senior MD at Evercore. Ranked first team in largecap biotechnology, pharmaceuticals/major, pharmaceuticals/specialty.

Say what you will about ER, but being simultaneously #1 in 3 (albeit related) sectors is nuts. I'm sure he has an army of associates and VP's slaving away, but he must be towards the very top of highest paid ER Analysts.

Would $10 mil be a stretch for someone like that? If he can't rake in $10M a year then idk..

isn't every big name investor wrong with absolute certainty at times?

Highest salary I’ve heard is Mike Yee. $4 million a year. I’m not saying Umer can’t or doesn’t make more.

4m is what’s guaranteed which caused a lot of outrage in 2022 when majority were taking pay cuts Was much more than $4m in 2021 boom. Source: I work at Jef.

Why would they pay more than his guarantee? Banks are protecting their upside risk and he’s protecting his downside risk in case of a slow year…

Isn't this already IB MD level? Throw in the fact that banking is cyclical while research is stabler so you have less diminishing marginal utility in research. So doesn't that mean that IB and ER are pretty equal monetarily at the MD level?

Only biotech bro. You’re not gonna get that in restaurants or something random.

I see. Well then, restaurant bankers or other random bankers won't be pulling that much too, right?

I believe that a number one II sell side research guy is definitely way more prestigious than an average PM at some notable hedge fund

Know a guy who used to work for Umer and the figure was much higher than the $4M (Mike Yee)

That’s wild… wonder what the average biotech analyst/MD is making.
