I gave myself a rona cut two days ago with clippers.

I only did the sides and the back, and had my wife trim the edges/lines with explicit directions using my electric shaver. Definitely recommend having a second person to act as another set of eyes/hands for those hard to reach areas.

Would NOT touch the top myself. I made that grave mistake when I was 23 and the barber gave me so much shit for it when I went back.

I use clippers anyway. #4 buzz. I clean up the ears and the back no problem.

Its a useful skill to have - to be able to clean up the back of your neck area with a mirror. I can do it with buzzers or with a Mach 3 - once you have this skill you can always look so fresh and so clean every time you leave your place.

I've grown out my hair before, but I usually buzz it now every week or two.

So I am cutting my low sides every week (1-2 inches above ear), trimming my mid to high sides (2 inches to top of head) every 2 ish weeks, and just letting the top grow. I might go in for a cut on the top in a month from now but I feel like even if it gains some length it’s ok because I got my cut ~1 month ago and can wait another 2 months before it’s actually bad.

sides and back are totally fine to cut because they grow back quickly. I use a 1/8 to 1/4 for the 1-2 inches, 1/2 - 1 inch for the next part and for back I don’t use a mirror I just cut super short for however long and then use a longer one for a little bit longer and it’s harder but I just ask someone how it looks and then fix it the next day. but I personally don’t care if it looks bad or needs a small fix here and there because it’s easily correctable.
