Interesting. I was under the impression that the firm (say Citi) has to electronically "collect" them from a school's OCR, in comparison to the other possibility of the school automatically submitting all dropped resumes to the firm once the drop deadline has passed. Additionally, at my school, we have to wait over a month until a set date to hear back for our closed lists.

Thanks for your thoughts, pikes.

The formal recruiting process for target schools all rely on the OCR website, not the firm site (it's indeed a blackhole).

To the best of my knowledge, a day or two after the drop deadline, HR downloads all the resumes at the same time. On our end, those of us involved in recruiting get a giant PDF of something like 200 resumes sorted alphabetically or separated into target schools.

If you're worried, email another copy to the HR person and say that you had accidentally edited your resume on Jan __ and you want to make sure the recruiting team has the right copy.
