How to avoid gold diggers?
Nowdays it seems like any asshol* is bragging on his instagram or facebook things he can't afford, such as 10 bottles of dom perignon/night, or the expensive boat trip, or the pic on the fast car on 10yrs lease, etc...
Am I being paranoid if I try at all cost to hide my wealth and I don't want a woman to be with me just for the money?
On the other hand, if I don't show and don't tell, she will think that I'm somewhat an average boring guy (i.e. loser).
Have any of you guy played to be poor and got a hot+smart+not-crazy-AF woman for at least a couple of months dating?
EARLY INHERITANCE. HOW TO KEEP IT AWAY FROM GOLD DIGGERS? (Originally Posted: 08/07/2011)
I have recently been told that I would be inheriting a decent size of assets. Its good enough that I probably would never need to work an entire day in my life but thats not what I am planning to do. I have been dating my girfriend for about 5 years now and we may get married in the not too distant future.
My question is how do I keep the entire inheritance without disclosing it in a marriage. In other words, I am trying to protect my 100% stake and do not wish to lose 50% of it due to whatever reason that might result in a divorce later. PS: She does not know that I have this inheritance.
Is there a country where I should get married in where this 50-50 split of assets does not apply? Or perhaps a secret swiss bank account in a name of a nominee?
^ Interesting.
How about a simple pre-nup?
Yes, good to see I'm not the only one to notice this...
OP, just get a prenup in the meantime. No need to get all worked up over it.
just get her to sign a prenup and make sure that you get married in a state in which a prenup helps you to get around many of the laws that concern you

dude, you need to talk to an attourney, not a forum full of college kids and some banking analysts
jdoasis.com?
^ lol
P.S: jdoasis is a total ghost town
As for this chick: she never dated you for the money to begin with, so she is by definition NOT a gold digger, but if you want to isolate her from the money then find a good lawyer. You might also want to talk to a psychologist if you're considering talking to strangers on the internet before getting a prenup before you inherit the money before you marry the girl.....you just tripped half a dozen red flags and I'm merely suggesting you check yourself.
Please talk to family, friends, counselors, teachers, whoever and everyone.....this is a big deal and your decisions now will ripple outward in ways that you may not understand yet. It's impossible for me to even tell you to or not to get a prenup b/c there are too many variables that can't be addressed in this post. (Is she rich? Does she even CARE about money that much? Is she faithful? etc, etc, etc) Please ask around....you'll thank yourself for it down the road.
Dude she obviously loved you before you had any money and she doesnt even know about it now and still wants to marry. Why dont you stop being a douche and open our life up to her.
You will be much happier and more fulfilled in the long run.
Right now you sound like a stereotype fuckin banker who is gonna be divorced 4 times and die alone. Dont let that happen.
Dude, nothing lasts forever. You might be all lovey dovey now but who knows what can happen down the line in 5-10-15 years. Nothing wrong with preparing for the worse case scenario.
